Pierfausto Seneci, Ph.D. is an Associate Professor at the Department of Chemistry, University of Milan, Italy since 2003, and R&D Director at the spin-off CISI scrl since 2008. He graduated at Chemistry from the University of Pavia, Italy, in 1983. He has worked as a scientist and manager in big pharma (Marion Merrell Dow, Italy; SmithKline Beecham, France; Selectide/ Marion Merrell Dow, US; 1986 to 2000) and biotech SME companies (NiKem and CISI scrl, Italy; ERA Biotech, Spain; NAD AG and Sirenade Pharma, Germany; 2001 to 2008). He is interested in both science and business aspects of pharmaceutical research; he has experience in combichem and parallel synthesis, in both discovery and pre-clinical development of small molecule, peptidomimetic and peptide candidates in oncology, CNS, antibacterials and auto-immune diseases. He has a strong business development expertise – including licensing, company representation and financing. He is author of four books, of several book chapters, of around 100 publications and more than 10 granted patents. |
