Bioreporters and their environmental applications

Ing. Josef Trögl, Ph.D. graduated from the Institute of Chemical Technology, Prague in 2002 in the field of General biochemistry, and obtained there Ph.D. in microbiology. He worked as a researcher in the Institute of Chemical Process Fundamentals and Institute of Microbiology of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic. Since 2007 he has worked as an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Environment UJEP. He currently serves as the head of Department of Technical Sciences. His research activities are focused widely on the environmental microbiology and related interdisciplinary issues, e.g. characterization of soil microbial communities and their changes upon ecological factors, biodegradation and bioremediation of organic pollutants, immobilization of microorganisms and their environmental applications (waste-water treatment, biosensors…), or ecotoxicology. So far he has published 20 papers and 1 chapter indexed tin Web of Sciences, 17 other papers and conference proceedings, and he participated in 30 conferences. According to WOS his publications were cited 152 times, h-index 6. He is also co-author of 3 commercialized technologies of innovative water-treatment.
