Biochar as environmental management tool

Assoc. Prof. PD Dr. Gerhard Soja, MSc. is a Senior Scientist at the Health and Environment Department, Austrian Institute of Technology (AIT). He is an experienced project leader who has run a range of different projects about environmental effects on plants and soil, agricultural water management, elemental dynamics in the environment, and plant nutrients. He has a management record of more than 10 years in the positions of deputy head or head of the department. His scientific career is built on the university education as crop physiologist and has led to a number of scientific publications (54 in refereed journals), book contributions and confidential expert opinions. His current project activities focus on the potential of biochar as soil amendment for agricultural uses and as environmental remediation tool.
